Depending on how you look at it, an MP3 player with a built-in speaker could be a good thing or bad. There are essentially two things to consider: (a) what that speaker does for the design of the player as a whole, and (b) what kind of output it delivers. The Omega MP3DJ from Zebronics is a good example of this technology.
Form Factor
The Omega MP3DJ is a small, lightweight MP3 player with a rather large speaker under the dual color OLED display. It looks like something out of the old 70’s Star Trek series, a sort of communicator perhaps. It’s in no way an eyesore, just to clarify. In fact I kind of like its looks.
Just above the display are the Skip keys that can also be used to navigate the menus. Between the speaker and display are two keys, one which allows you to select various menus options etc. and the other a play/pause key. 
A mini USB port is located on the bottom of the dev
ice with the 3.5mm earphone socket on the top. A power switch is on the side, along with a volume selector key and a switch for activating the speaker. The MP3DJ comes with a total of 2GB of internal memory and is a simple plug-and-play device. The bundled earphones are quite comfy on the ears and good enough to ‘keep’.
Features and Performance
The interface may seem cramped, but it’s not too difficult to maneuver once you get the hang of the keys. It allows you to access folders and play all files in them without creating a Playlist.
To start off with the player’s prime focus (audio), I can tell you this is one really loud player. You will not need to keep it on max volume even in crowded areas to enjoy your music. With EQ presets and an SRS WOW engine to enhance your compressed audio, the experience only gets better.
But let’s get to the basics. Though loud, the MP3DJ failed to provide the best in sound quality. Then again it’s not a high-end player. But don’t misunderstand; I’m not comparing it to the iPods or Sony Walkman players, this one fares brilliantly with other players in the same range.
