Xiaomi is a privately owned Chinese electronics company headquartered in Beijing, China. It is the world’s 3rd largest mobile distributor company, manufacturing smartphones, mobile and customer electronics. In August 2011, the company launched its first smartphone and since then it has become so popular in the market that its sales have drastically increased. Recently, they have launched the new Xiaomi Mi-Pad, which is now presenting a tough competition to Apple iPad Mini.
After a strong success of smartphones, Xiaomi has launched Mi-Pad, which is a kind of boon to customers because it’s very economical and contains all the needed features by a common man. First of all, it’s vital to mention that the look of Xiaomi Mi-Pad is really awesome, resembling iPad Mini. They have used magnesium alloy for the construction of its body. There is a micro SD slot, power button and volume keys; it also has 3 capacitive touch buttons at the bottom of the screen.
Xiaomi uses Nvidia’s Tegra K1 SoC for better performance in terms of graphics. Nvidia has recently launched Nvidia Tegra K1 SoC. The LED screen measures up to 7.9 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 1536*2048. The rear camera comes with a resolution of 8 MP, which captures awesome photos; the front camera is of 5MP, but it doesn’t have flash.
Mi-Pad comes with Android 4.4.4 OS. The only change that we can see between Mi-Pad and iPad is the OS. iPad uses iOS, while Mi-Pad uses Android. The internal storage capacity is up to 16GB and can be extended up to 128 GB. The internal RAM is 2GB, which is quite good and can support multitasking very easily. It sports a 2.2 GHz quad-core processor. The main downside is that it doesn’t support 3G. This is a big drawback because nowadays 4G is booming, but Mi-Pad only comes with 2G network supporting format. Wi-Fi is enabled in Mi-Pad, which is good for Wi-Fi shoppers.
