By -

With Acer’s new Aspire Switch 10 coming into the market, consumers are going crazy to check all the new features and specifications. At first, it all seems like another low budget Windows tablet, but the detachable keyboard dock turns the device into a new shape shifter, which can stand in multiple angles. Starting at just $279, it is disrupting the way we see laptops. Switch 10 is one of the first tablets that became a laptop when attached to a keyboard dock. Acer unveiled two of its models- Switch 10 E SWS-013 and Switch 10 SW5-015 starting with a price of $399. Read on to find out why you should use or what makes it interesting to use Acer’s line of Switch hybrid notebook models.

What’s most interesting about the device is the detachable keyboard dock, which comes with tablet. This tablet can be securely snapped on the doc that has a 360-degree hinge, which allows the device to be located at multiple positions. Being very handy in nature, we can rotate the screen when we place the device on a table in reverse V shape, which is also called the tent mode. This is a very convenient way to use a computer.

Acer, like most of the other PC makers, is always experimenting with some unique designs that provide a tablet and a laptop in a single package. Switch 10 is quite similar to designs like Lenovo Yoga whose screen can be rotated 360 degrees, but that being hard wired to the keyboard base Acer is setting itself apart by allowing the screen to be detached. This version of Acer provides adequate performance when it comes to loading applications and swapping between screens in Window 8.1 interfaces; it runs on Intel Atom Z3735F processor, which is an older version of Bay Trail Chip

When it comes to screen, it doesn’t stand out from that of competitors. With a pixel resolution of 1280*800, Acer has an IPS display, which makes it viewable from different angles, but the glossy surface of the tablet causes some troublesome glare. The combination of keyboard and dock combines to give a battery life of 12 hours.

For this price, you cannot expect more; it has a two megapixel front and rear camera. Other specifications include 64GB of storage, up to 2GB of RAM with ports like mini HDMI port, microSD slot and micro USB slot.

Acer Aspire Switch sports impressive portability and versatility with a great display at a budget-friendly price point.
