New iPhone 4 or iPod touch 4 users may not be aware of what is jailbreaking, but it is a fairly common in the Iphone user’s community. The first thing Iphone users do after buying their Iphone is, jailbreak it.

So why so buzz about iPhone 4 jailbreak ?

Jailbreaking allows your Iphone to unlock various possibilities which otherwise remain locked if you don’t jailbreak it. Jailbreaking has many advantages over an non jailbroken Iphone 4 or Ipod touch 4.

Here are few advantages of jailbreaking Iphone – Ipad – Ipod touch 4

  • Jailbreaking allows tethering your Iphone. You can then install MyWi and turn it into a Wi-Fi hotspot.
  • Install app store named Cydia with 1000’s of unofficial apps not allowed by apple
  • Unlock your phone to work with any carrier.
  • Use face time over 3G using My3G
  • Use Iblacklist and stop unwanted calls [paid Cydia app not available on Apple store]

    Jailbreaking is a term not just used for Apple’s iPhone, iPod and iPad. For example you can jailbreak Palm Pre, Sony PSP. It’s just one methodology among various methods employed under Privilege escalation

    Yeah! Before iPhone, generic term ” Hacked ” is used. And yes, it was legalized finally. Apple denies to comment on the matter, as usual. :)

    Yes , the term “hack” itself makes it look suspicious , but apple users are smart … they coined it Jailbreak . After JB was legalized , apple seems pissed off …lol .. releasing new firmware every other day …:P
