To protect the data in the USB’s and Memory cards from others access write protection system is being used,but it became a head ache for the common users because many of them are facing this problem and don’t know how to get rid of this. We are having the solution for this problem.
These memory cards and USB’s automatically enter in, to write protected states without the knowledge of the user in some cases they may be
- If the user kept his memory card in a adapter which consists of lock it may enter in to write protected state.
- When file system corrupts it may enter in to inaccessible state.
- If user replaces a new memory card in place of a write protected card.
- Some USB’s and memory cards come with inbuilt lock switches which operates in ON and OFF modes…If it is in ON mode then the card or USB is in a write protected mode and user cannot access the data in it.

Two solutions to get rid of this problem:
- If your memory card or USB is showing that it is write protected then check for the switch on either sides of the device…it is too small and if you found one then unlock your device using that switch.
- If your device doesn’t have any switch then the trouble starts.In this case there may be two chances either your device is completely corrupted or it is in write protection mode…if it is in write protection mode then there is a solution for the problem i.e.,
Note:- Before manipulating your registry make a back for your registry to do it open registry editor(regedit) go to ->File select Export option and save the registry file at any desired location. Any false step during the manipulation of registry may lead to system failure so make sure that you created backup of your registry.
- Go to Start->Run
- Type Regedit (Registry Editor) and press Enter
- Navigate to this key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SYSTEM->CurrentControlSet-> Control->StorageDevicePolicies
- Right click on Writeprotect and select the option delete.
- Close the regedit window and restart your system or disconnect the device and connect it again. Now you can access your device without any problem.
- Instead of deleting it in 4th step you have an other way to do it, right click on Writeprotect and select modify then change the data value from ’1′ to ’0′ and click ok.

- Navigate to these two keys HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SYSTEM->ControlSet001 , HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SYSTEM->ControlSet002 and repeat the above step. Now you can access your device without any problem.
But when i faced the same problem deleting the write-protect key worked for me.I used many softwares that are available on internet but no use. Hope your problem comes to an end by following above procedure.
