The old Apache motor adopts a new cowl and has undergone major changes, to up capacity from 147.5cc to 159.7cc on the new RTR. The larger capacity RTR uses the short-stroke mantra to become quicker revving. This air-cooled and twin-valve unit has received several internal tweaks, including attention lavished on its inlet and exhaust ends, clutch and gear processes as well as the combustion chamber.

Classy touches are an alloy brake pedal and footrests. The Apache 160 retains an identical fuel tank and body panels, but has now upgraded to clear lens turn indicators, and an LED tail-light system on its raised stern. The rear fender and silencer exit area are altered while the numberplate region is now illuminated.

It’s hard to find any Discomfort or Unwanted things on the Apache RTR 160 that it is designed in such a way to attract the youngsters .This Bike will Definately Satisfy Even the Elders.
But also be prepared for a “probable” 5 km/litre less mileage than the Apache 150. After all you can’t defy Laws of Physics.(Mileage = 35-50kms/lit)

There is just one word for TVS Apache RTR 160: Brilliant. TVS has done a good job by introducing a sleek and a better version of the previous Apache 150cc. This new bike has attracted customers in a huge number and has also done away with the flaws of the previous bike. It is one of the best bikes available currently for the youth that wants a rugged bike to rule the Indian roads. For the uninitiated, RTR is the abbreviated form of Rapid Throttle Response and the bike surely lives up to the name with swift response from any region of its power band.

  1. Positives:- The look was excellent.I love this Bike.This Bike was Designed For both Youngsters as well as the Middleagers.This bike was The Dream Bike For All the Youngsters.The Rider experiences heaven while riding this bike.Sporty riding position .Smooth and Powerful engine .Bike looks and feels and handles like a bigger bike now .Stable and predictable handling.If I was Going to buy this Bike I prefer Red or Yellow Color.

  2. Negatives:- These r the things that r to be improved for TVS Apache RTR160.
  3. The Ride quality is a bit hard
  4. Foot peg sub frame finished in black (Too much of black. A silver/aluminum finished sub frame would have given a nice contrast look)
  5. The RTR might still feel small for taller guys (Wheelbase is still 20 mm shorter than the Pulsar 150)
  6. Brakes:- The front brakes did the job of bring the RTR to a stop pretty well.
  7. Handling:- The Apache RTR no longer feels or handles like a small bike anymore. The extra 40 mm on the wheelbase has done its trick. The bike now feels stable even with a pillion behind. Stability around corners was great.
  8. Ride Quality:- The ride quality of the RTR was a little bit hard. It was not exactly uncomfortable but wasn’t exactly plush either. But this actually aided in improving the handling of the bike.
  9. Gear Box:- Slightly clunky, but ok.The gearbox remains a five-speed unit, shifting in the ubiquitous one-down and four-up pattern-the RTR 160 differing from the Apache 150 to use a sporty toe shift lever.
  10. Engine/Performance:- Smooth, powerful .Pretty Comfortable than 150cc Bike. The engine remained smooth with out any significant vibrations till 5000 rpm.The engine of the RTR is now an oversquare 160 cc compared to the earlier 150 cc square engine. The spec sheets also claim an increase in max power from its earlier 13.5 Bhp to 15 Bhp ( the highest in the 150 cc segment in India).So does that makes the RTR the new king of Indian roads in the 150 cc class (or near about the 150 cc class)..??
  11. Price:- 65,000 – 73,000/- .I hope this was the reasonalble price fot this bike.
  12. Efficient Automatic Start:-This Bike was Provided with the automatic start which makes it much more attractive for everyone.This start was pretty efficient that it was capable for starting the enging with one single little press.

  14. The TVS Apache RTR 160cc impresses in many aspects. Be it power pick-up, performance, reliability, mileage or style, this bike can very easily win the all-rounder automobile trophy. As compared to its former version, the RTR 160 has better shock absorption, enhanced comfort and offers a smoo

    ther ride to a rider. There have been classy upgrades on the designs of its levers, pedals, grips, bar-end dampers, lights, dash, etc. The bike is available in the shades of yellow, matt grey, black and silver.

  15. Digital Meter: TVS apache rtr 160cc digital dash – LCD speedo,two trip meters, clock,odometer, fuel gauge and an analog tachometer. Also has useful features service and battery indicators. Another useful feature is the clip on handlebar for various position.
  16. Pick Up: RTR stands for Racing Throttle Response. Essentially, TVS Racing have been involved more than ever before in the development of this motorcycle. The engine has grown to 159.7cc and it’s more than an overbore. The motor’s stroke was cut down to 52.9 mm and then the bore grew to 62 mm. The RTR is rated at 15.2 bhp (at 8500 rpm) and 1.31 kgm (at 6000 rpm). On the track, the RTR proves to be a crisp flyer. Throttle response is immediate. The 160 will blow through 60 kph in 4.8 seconds, 100 kph in 17.69 seconds and reach a top speed of 118 kph .

Conclusion:- It looks handsome, has excellent build quality, a sporty riding position, smooth engine and good handling.I hope this is the dream bike especially for the youngsters.Actually One should not have any Hesitation buying this Bike.Red and Yellow colors were Pretty attractive for the model of this bike.
