We are back again with our Tuesday SEO Special from Mr.Om Thoke. Every Tuesday, you’ll get to learn some of the best SEO tips that will help you in improving the visibility of your blog in eyes of search engines, and in turn help in boosting up your SERP rankings.
In our previous articles we have discussed about The Art of Link Building and Understanding the Basic concept of SEO. In this article we are going to look into the consequences that we face if we apply Blackhat SEO on our Blog/Website
When you start learning SEO or anything tough for that matter, you tend to get carried away with the shortcuts, and blackhat SEO is one of such things.
Why Do People Try to Use Blackhat SEO?
People struggle for months and years to get high SERP rankings, and page rank for their websites/blogs, but when they see that there are certain shortcuts to achieve the same results in a matter of few days or weeks, they fall for it. Blackhat SEO is all about trying to achieve high PR or SERP rankings using deceptive methods, and trying to game search engines, visitors, and bots to get unbelievably good results in a very short span of time.
What Are Common Blackhat SEO Tactics?
The most common blackhat seo tactics include creating doorway pages (web pages that are just stuffed with keywords, and links, but no useful info for the visitors), link farms, and invisible links.
However, you may end up doing excessive keyword stuffing on a particular web page unknowingly, which may be considered as blackhat seo, and you may be penalized by search engines for doing so.

Anyway, coming back to our discussion of deliberate adoption of blackhat search engine optimization tactics, first and the foremost thing that you must keep in mind is that if you’re not taking care of SEO of your website, then you must make sure that the SEO professional or company who’s handling this responsibility doesn’t adopt such dirty tactics to achieve results in a speedy, effortless manner.
Secondly, if you’re trying to learn SEO, you should stay away from link farms that offer hundreds and thousands of free back-links, and above all, you must never try to create doorway pages just for the heck of filling the page with high competition keywords.
One last thing that you must keep in mind is that if you’ve got a bunch of blogs/sites then an effort to interlink them all through your blogroll can be nothing less than a creating a linkfarm, and the search engines are not going to love your actions.
However, careful linking of blogs of relevant niche such as technology, gadgets, internet, web design, and similar stuff is very much permissible, and advantageous for SEO of all the blogs. On the contrary, linking a music blog with sports blog, programming tutorials blog, or art blogs or a car review blog isn’t advisable.
The bottom-line is that usage of blackhat seo can get your site banned and excluded from the search engine results completely. So, not matter what you try, don’t try this on your site!
