When you’ve plenty of pages on your blog, but lack the backlinks to your blog, it becomes important to find the footprints to increase the link popularity of your blog.
#1. Now, let’s analyze the tasks in detail; if you want to find the right places to build link, the best way is to see what your competitors are doing.
For example, if you want to rank well for the keyword ‘how to make money online’, you should look at the site that’s currently ranking on top of google.
#2. In this case, you’ll see http://www.101waystomakemoney.com/ ; now you need to analyse backlinks of your competitor.
#3. I strongly suggest you to use Yahoo Site Explorer tool – http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com
#4. You should paste the URL of your competitor on http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com & hit explorer URL button, then click the inlinks tab.
#5. Now, you need to look for inlinks from external sites except the internal pages of your competitors’ site. And, if you see those links coming from forums or comments on some popular blog posts, you can easily drop in your comments, on register on that forum, and contribute actively to earn those back links.
#6. Same goes with article submissions, and links coming from social directories, or feeds. Basically, the essence is to replicate the efforts of your competitors to improve SEO of your blog, and try to make your way through to the top of google, and other search engines.
#7. This way you can easily find the right places to build backlinks, and rank for top keywords!
#8. Lastly, it is highly recommended to claim your blog on Technorati as Technorati can not only send you whole lot of traffic, but also improve your credibility too.
