Aero is the new feature that was introduced by Microsoft with its Windows Vista. Microsoft received a grand applaud from experts and also from its users with this.
In this post we will check at how to Enable Aero Peek in Windows 7.
- Point to the “Show desktop” button at the end of the taskbar. The open windows fade from view, revealing the desktop.(You can find show desktop at the rightmost bottom end of the taskbar)
- To make the windows reappear, move the pointer away from the “Show desktop” button.
- The Aero Peek can also be activated by using “Windows key + Spacebar” keys.
- Open “Taskbar” and “Start Menu Properties” by clicking the Start button, clicking “Control Panel“, clicking “Appearance and Personalization“, and then clicking “Taskbar and Start Menu“.
- Under “Preview desktop with Aero Peek“, clear the “Use Aero Peek to preview the desktop” check box, and then click “OK“.

On my Windows 7 the option of ticking or untikcking the option of activating or deactivating the Areo peek is grayed out. How do I get to un-gray it so that I can have the option kto manipulate it!
HAD THE SAME TROUBLE FIXED IT BY GOING TO CONTROL PANEL. AT “VIEW BY”, I CLICKED CATEGORY THEN CLICKED ON “SMALL ICONS” CLICKED ON “PERFORMANCE INFORMATTION AND TOOLS”, AND THEN CLICKED “ADJUST VISUAL AFFECTS” THIS OPENED UP THE PERFORMANCE OPTIONS WINDOW. THE “SAVE TASKBAR THUMBNAIL PREVIEWS”, WAS UNTICKED, SO I CLICKED THE BOX THEN CLICKED “APPLY”, THE AERO PEEK FEATURE WORKED STRAIGHT AWAY. THE AERO PEEK BOX IN THE TASKBAR AND START MENUWINDOW WAS NO LONGER GRAYED OUT.
