Here’s a quick list of some of the most popular tools to help refine and improve Google search results.
| Operator Example | Result |
| Buy movies online | the words BUY MOVIES and ONLINE. |
| Mumbai OR Delhi | either the word Mumbai or the word Delhi. |
| Google Talk | the exact word Google Talk. |
| Virus – computer | the word Virus but NOT Computer. |
| +shoe | Only the word shoe, not the plural or tenses. |
| ~auto loan | loan info for both the word auto and its synonyms: truck, car, etc. |
| define:computer | the words red and blue separated by one or more words. |
| I’m Feeling Lucky | Takes you directly to first web page returned for your query. |
| orange * blue | the words orange and blue separated by one or more words. |

| + | addition (45 + 47) |
| - | subtraction (45 – 47) |
| * | multiplication (45 * 47) |
| / | division (45 / 47) |
| % of | percentage of (45 % of 47) |
