I have been using Windows Media Player for the longest time but since VLC supports new codecs and offer faster decoding, I will give it a try.
@Paul Sure, you will like it for sure. Its faster than ny other media players and supports almost every format and codecs
There is one more alternative to vlc player which is a delight to use, GOM player. It supports whatever vlc supports with a clean interface.

Its the best. Earlier I used Kantaris player but it takes time to load and VLC is very fast as compared to any other player and Yes, plays every file.
