At this gathering of technology’s greatest minds at IBC, Opera Software unveils its Opera Devices SDK 9.6. Opera’s previous Software Development Kit (SDK) set the bar high for version 9.6, in terms of performance improvements and its new user interface visual effects. However, the Opera Devices SDK 9.6 takes a leap forward with several new and improved features, as well as its ability to deliver these features to even the most limited devices.
Visitors to Opera’s exhibit at IBC, in Hall 3, Stand C11, will witness Opera Devices SDK 9.6’s new hardware-accelerated Opera Zoom beta feature. With Opera Zoom, users experience smooth panning and zooming, enabling them to quickly scan full pages in overview mode and dive in on the details.

OBML support demo:
Based on Opera Mini technology, Opera Devices SDK now supports Opera Binary Markup Language (OBML). OBML compresses Web pages by up to 90%, accelerating the Web experience, reducing bandwidth requirements and making the most out of limited device hardware.
Fraud protection:
Gives users peace of mind when it comes to malware attacks and fraudulent activities such as phishing.
Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) demo:
Learn how Opera Devices SDK can deliver seamless connectivity across multiple devices. A UPnP Opera Widget can become a universal remote control enabling access to content in any device in the home network.
During its exhibition at IBC 2008, Opera will prove the versatility of its SDK technology – being both a full Web browser engine and an application environment – for devices with more than 18 different demos available at its stand. Opera currently works with the leading OEMs, silicon vendors and middleware providers, including ARCHOS, Amino, STMicroelectronics, Freescale and Dreampark to deliver new and exciting Web services to a wide variety of products. Opera is also an active member of Open IPTV Forum.
